MINDS
(Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore)
is one of the oldest and largest Voluntary Welfare Organisation in
Singapore catering to the educational, vocational, social and welfare
needs of the
Intellectually Disabled in Singapore.
Under MINDS, there are five special
education schools; three sheltered workshops; two training and
development centres; and one multi-service residential facility;
serving around 2400 Intellectually Disabled persons in all.
Recognising the difficulties faced by our clients with Intellectual
Disability in securing a job in the open market, we have set up a few
Social Enterprises projects that serve as platform to provide our
clients with functional jobs. Holding a regular job helps the
intellectually disabled increase their self esteem and eventually
allows them to assimilate with the society.
At
MINDS Wash we provide a thorough
manual wash service at competitive pricing with a free self-service
vacuuming facility for our customers. As part of our commitment to
service quality, we offer our customers a rewash if they are
unsatisfied with the service.

MINDS
Perform is a performing arts group that specialises in
Taiko Drums. The troupe is currently being headed by Rams, who is
himself actively involve in public entertainment. They have been
actively been involve in community events such as school performances,
public performances and Chingay. They are also actively involved in
events segments in the private functions.

MINDS
Food is a catering service that provides pack lunches
and buffet meals to the pubic. It is run by able-bodied person and
person with Intellectual Disabilities. Our customers include government
agencies and schools.

MINDS
Craft produces Stationeries and Accessories such as
Mobile Phones Straps, Notepads, Picture Frames, Greeting Cards and
other gift items. The carefully crafted products are made by Trainees
with Intellectual Disability.

Hand Shop - MINDS Shop is a group of recycling shops
that sell various items that are donated in kind from the public. The
donated items are checked for defects, cleaned and put up for sale at
affordable prices to the public. Items for sale includes clothing,
accessories, furniture, toys, electronics, apparels, etc.
